Christmas is about Jesus. God, creator of everyone and everything, took on flesh and entered into the world he created to fully and finally atone for humanity's sin by giving his life as a substitute for ours. His punishment has brought us peace. Now, because of Jesus, God isn't just near us.
This is our final gathering before Christmas, Brandon talked about how Jesus was hated from eternity passed and that didn't change after the first Christmas and still hasn't changed. He challenged us to know that just as Jesus was hated so will we be if we're truly His.
We wrapped up our series in the book of Titus this week by talking about authority and submission and why those are vital to a righteous life. "He gave himself for us to redeem us from all lawlessness and to cleanse for himself a people for his own possession, eager to do good works." (2:14)
We're in week 3 of our series Our Common Faith, a study in the book of Titus. Brandon continued into chapter 2 this week talking about the role of older and younger men and women (all of us) in the church.
