The Birth of Israel

 

This week Brandon taught through the story of Jacob's name being changed to Israel. He showed that this is an early foreshadowing of the Gospel where God gives us a new name when He saves us. We no longer have to be identified by our sin.

  1. What has God been teaching you through this series?

  2. What has God called you to do? What unique gifts has He given you to serve Him?

  3. This week Brandon talked about the fact that grace can’t be bought. It is the free gift of God.

  4. Sin assumes the worst in every situation. How has sin led you to see the worst in your life?

  5. How have you ‘wrestled’ with God? Are you wrestling now?

  6. God has given you a new name. Often, when God changes someone’s name there is a deeper meaning to why he does it. 

  7. God pursues sinners. How did God pursue you? How is He pursuing you?
